Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the GrimeGrid app and the GrimeGrid.app website collect, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. GrimeGrid is made by CleanerConnect LLC ("we", "us", "our"). If you have questions, email privacy@grimegrid.app.

By downloading or using GrimeGrid, you agree to this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, and Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.

1. What we collect

Your account

You can play as a guest or sign in with Apple or Google. Signing in keeps the Lives and Revives you buy safe and lets them follow you to other devices.

• Guest: an anonymous account ID. No name or email.
• Sign in with Apple or Google: an account ID from Apple or Google, and the email address they share with us. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", we only receive Apple's private relay address. We don't collect your name.
• Which way you signed in, when your account was created, and when it was last used.

Lives, Revives and purchases

• How many Lives and Revives you have, and a record of each one bought, used or moved between accounts, so your balance is always right.
• For each App Store purchase: the transaction ID, the product, and the date. We use these to give you what you bought exactly once and to stop fraud.
• Apple processes every payment. We never receive your card, bank or billing details.

Analytics (only if you say yes)

The first time you open GrimeGrid we ask whether you'd like to share anonymous gameplay analytics. If you say no, nothing is collected. If you say yes, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to learn how the game is played so we can improve it. You can change your mind any time with the Analytics switch in Settings.

With analytics on, we collect:

• Game events: games started, levels cleared and lost (with level, score and difficulty), rooms cleared, the game beaten, Revives used, the tutorial started and finished, credits earned and spent, helpers used, and achievements unlocked.
• Information Google Analytics gathers on its own: app opens, sessions and screens viewed, device model, operating system and app version, language, and an approximate country or region worked out from your IP address. This is not your precise location.

We use the version of Google Analytics without Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Analytics are never used for advertising.

Security and how the game runs

• App check: Firebase App Check confirms requests come from the real GrimeGrid app, which protects your account and purchases.
• Server time: the game checks the time with our server so daily features and parental time limits can't be bypassed by changing the device clock.
• Network information: like any online service, our providers receive your IP address and basic device information when the app connects to them.

When you contact us or ask for your data

• If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
• If you ask for a copy of your data and you signed in with Apple or Google, we email you a download link at your account's email address.

2. What stays with you

Some things never reach our servers:

• Settings are saved on your device and synced through your own iCloud account. We can't see them.
• Parental controls (the PIN, the purchase block and the daily time limit) are stored only on your device.
• Notifications are scheduled on your device. We don't send push notifications and don't collect a push token.
• Game Center scores, achievements, challenges, friends and your saved run are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

3. What we don't collect

GrimeGrid does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health information or browsing history. It shows no ads and contains no advertising tracking. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How we use information

We don't use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run GrimeGrid, and only for that purpose:

• Google (Firebase): sign-in, our database, server functions, file storage for data exports, App Check, and, if you allow it, Analytics. Firebase privacy information.
• Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, Game Center and iCloud.
• Resend: sends the email with your data export link. Resend's privacy policy.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our players or others, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

6. Where it is stored

Your account, balances and purchase records are stored with Google Firebase in the United States (us-central). Analytics are processed by Google, and data export emails are sent by Resend, each under their own privacy policies linked above.

If you play from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your information is transferred to the United States. That transfer is covered by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

7. How long we keep it

• Your account, balances and history: for as long as you have an account.
• After you ask to delete your account: there is a 30-day grace period in which you can change your mind by signing in. After that, your account, balances, history, sign-in and any export files are permanently deleted.
• Purchase records: the record of each App Store transaction (transaction ID, product and date) is kept for up to 5 years after your account is deleted, with your account removed from it, for accounting, tax and fraud prevention. It is no longer linked to you.
• Data exports: the download link works for 24 hours, and the file is removed from our storage a few days later.
• Analytics: kept by Google and bound by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Emails to us: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.

8. Your choices and rights

In the game

• Analytics: turn on or off in Settings.
• Copy of your data: open your account and ask for an export. If you signed in, we email you a download link (once every 30 days). Guests can save a copy on their device.
• Delete your account: open your account and choose to delete it. You can undo it within 30 days.
• Notifications: turn each type on or off in Settings, or in your device's settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
• correct it if it's wrong;
• delete it;
• receive it in a portable format;
• object to or restrict how we use it;
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before;
• not be treated differently for using these rights.

To use any of these rights, use the options in the game or email privacy@grimegrid.app. We may need to confirm the request comes from you. We'll reply within one month, or sooner if the law where you live requires it. If you're in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California and other U.S. states: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. The categories we collect are identifiers (account ID, email), commercial information (purchase records), and internet or device activity (analytics, only with consent), for the purposes described above.

9. Children

GrimeGrid is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the age of digital consent where they live, without a parent's consent. Children can play as a guest without giving a name or email, analytics stay off unless turned on, and parental controls let parents block purchases and set a daily time limit.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, email privacy@grimegrid.app and we will delete it.

10. Security

Information is encrypted in transit, kept behind access rules so it isn't public, and protected by Firebase App Check. Purchases are verified on our server before anything is credited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will let you know as the law requires if something goes wrong.

11. The website

GrimeGrid.app does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. It remembers your chosen language in your own browser's storage, which never leaves your device. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads, under Google's Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as GrimeGrid changes. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll let you know in the game before it takes effect.
