The short version
- Play fair, have fun, and keep the leaderboards honest.
- Lives and Revives are for using in the game. They aren't money and can't be cashed out or traded.
- Apple handles every purchase, so refunds go through Apple.
- If a child plays, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms for them and looks after purchases.
- We'll keep improving the game, which means things can change.
These terms are an agreement between you and CleanerConnect LLC ("we", "us", "our"), the maker of GrimeGrid. They cover the GrimeGrid app and the GrimeGrid.app website. Questions? Email support@grimegrid.app.
By downloading or using GrimeGrid, you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"). These terms add to the Apple EULA. If the two ever conflict, the Apple EULA wins.
1. Kids and families
GrimeGrid is rated 4+ and made for everyone, so we expect families to play together.
- If a child plays, their parent or guardian agrees to these terms for them and is responsible for how they use the game, including any purchases.
- Purchases are made through the Apple account on the device. Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time let parents approve or block them.
- The game has its own parental controls behind a PIN: block purchases, set a monthly spending limit, and set a daily time limit.
- Children can play as a guest, or under a parent's Apple or Google sign-in.
2. Your account
- You can play as a guest or sign in with Apple or Google. A guest account lives on one device. If the app is deleted or the device is lost, a guest account and everything in it may be gone for good, so we recommend signing in to keep your Lives and Revives safe.
- You're responsible for keeping your Apple or Google account secure.
- You can delete your account from inside the game. It is removed after 30 days, and signing back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion. After that, your account, progress, Lives and Revives can't be brought back.
3. Lives, Revives and purchases
- Lives and Revives give you a limited, personal license to use them in GrimeGrid. You don't own them, and they have no cash value.
- They can't be sold, traded, transferred outside the game, or exchanged for money or anything outside the game.
- All purchases are made through Apple and follow Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we may remove the items it gave you.
- Items are lost if your account is deleted or closed under these terms.
- Prices are set in the App Store and may change.
- If something you paid for doesn't arrive, email us and we'll put it right.
4. Credits and mini games
Credits are earned by playing and can't be bought. They're used inside the game for helpers and to unlock mini games. Like Lives and Revives, credits have no cash value and can't be transferred, and we may adjust how they're earned or what they cost.
5. Fair play
Please don't:
- cheat, hack, or use bots, scripts or modified versions of the app;
- exploit bugs or glitches to get an advantage, Lives, Revives or credits;
- tamper with scores, leaderboards, the Daily Board or challenges;
- interfere with our servers or try to reach data that isn't yours;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
If you find a bug, we'd love to hear about it. If someone breaks these rules, we may remove their scores, take back items gained unfairly, or suspend or close their account.
6. Game Center
Leaderboards, achievements and challenges run on Apple's Game Center, which is covered by Apple's own terms and settings. Your Game Center nickname and scores may be visible to other players.
7. Changes to the game
We're always working on GrimeGrid. We may add, change or remove features, levels and rooms; rebalance difficulty, helpers and rewards; change prices; or take online features such as leaderboards and the Daily Board offline. Unless the law says otherwise, we don't owe a refund or compensation for these changes. If we ever stop offering GrimeGrid, we'll try to let you know ahead of time in the game.
8. What belongs to us
GrimeGrid, including its name, characters, art, music, sounds and code, belongs to CleanerConnect LLC or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial license to play it on Apple devices you own or control, as the Apple EULA allows. You're welcome to share screenshots and videos of your games.
9. Stopping or ending access
You can stop playing at any time and delete your account from inside the game. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Sections 3, 8 and 10 to 13 keep applying after that.
10. Disclaimers
GrimeGrid is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to make it fun and reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available, free of bugs, or that your progress will never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CleanerConnect LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or progress. Our total liability for any claim about GrimeGrid is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
12. Apple's license agreement
Your use of GrimeGrid is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. If these terms conflict with it, the Apple EULA applies to your license to use the app.
13. Law and disputes
If you have a problem, please email support@grimegrid.app first. Most issues can be sorted out quickly, and we'll try in good faith for at least 30 days before either of us goes further.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and by U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be handled only by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, though either of us may bring a claim in small claims court where it qualifies. If you live outside the United States, you keep any protections the law of your country gives you that can't be waived by agreement.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as GrimeGrid changes. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll let you know in the game before it takes effect. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
